Which flooring for which room?

  • Kitchen: LVT (best) or sheet vinyl (budget) — both waterproof and wipe-clean.
  • Bathroom and wet room: sheet vinyl or welded wet room flooring; slip-resistant grades available.
  • Hallway: LVT or a dense twist carpet; laminate AC4 also works in dry hallways.
  • Living room: carpet for warmth, laminate or engineered wood for a hard floor, LVT for open-plan kitchen-diners.
  • Bedroom: saxony or wool-mix carpet; laminate for a low-allergen finish.
  • Stairs and landing: dense twist carpet on firm underlay — never a loose loop or deep saxony.
  • Conservatory: LVT or engineered wood (stable with temperature swings).
  • Rental property: stain-resistant twist carpet in bedrooms, LVT or vinyl in kitchens and bathrooms — see landlord flooring.

How much does flooring cost to fit in Peterborough?

Supplied and fitted, our 2026 starting prices in Peterborough are: carpet from £14 per m², sheet vinyl from £15, laminate from £18, safety flooring from £18, luxury vinyl tiles from £35 and engineered wood from £40 per m². Commercial carpet tiles start from £12 per m². All prices include fitting; underlay, uplift and subfloor preparation are itemised on your written quote.

Do you supply and fit, or just fit?

We supply and fit. Every floor we sell is installed by our own fitters, so one company is responsible for the product, the subfloor preparation and the finish. We can also fit customer-supplied flooring in some cases — ask when you book your visit.

How soon can you fit?

Most domestic jobs are fitted within one to two weeks of quote acceptance, and sooner for stocked carpets and vinyls. Landlord turnarounds are prioritised, typically within 3–5 working days. A single room is usually fitted in a day; a whole house in one to three days.

Do you move furniture and remove old flooring?

Yes. Our fitters move standard furniture, lift and dispose of your old carpet, vinyl or laminate, and leave the room clean. Very large or fragile items are best cleared in advance, and we will tell you exactly what is included on the quote.

Which flooring is best for a kitchen?

Luxury vinyl tiles (Karndean, Amtico, Moduleo) are the best all-round kitchen floor: 100% waterproof, warm underfoot, hard-wearing and easy to clean. Sheet vinyl is the budget-friendly waterproof alternative. Standard laminate is not recommended for kitchens where water sits on the floor.

Is LVT better than laminate?

For kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and busy family homes, yes: LVT is fully waterproof, quieter and more scratch-resistant, though it costs more (from £35 per m² fitted versus laminate from £18). Laminate remains excellent value in dry living rooms and bedrooms. Many customers combine the two.
